The Louisiana Clinical and Translational Science (LA CaTS) Center is seeking applications to support Planning Grants for Pilot project awardees and other LA CaTS investigators with sufficient preliminary data to support collaborative scientific grant-writing teams in clinical and translational research. Support of investigators is central to the aim of the LA CaTS Center to increase the critical mass of investigators performing clinical and translational research. This is a competitive application to identify and select Planning Grants which will lead to subsequent competitive grant proposals to the NIH and other funding agencies. The overall objective of the program is to provide support so that junior and/or senior faculty can collaborate on planning and preparation for submission of interdisciplinary and innovative grant applications.

The Louisiana Clinical and Translational Science (LA CaTS) Center is seeking applications to support training opportunities for junior investigators in clinical and translational research. Visiting Scholar awards will be targeted to New Investigators or Early-Stage Investigators, as defined by the NIH, for detail see http://grants.nih.gov/grants/new_investigators/. Support of these investigators is central to the aim of the LA CaTS Center to increase the critical mass of investigators performing clinical and translational research. This is a competitive application to identify and select candidates. The overall objective of the program is to provide support so that junior faculty can extend and enhance their skill set in research by visiting laboratories or research programs, and working with mentors to learn new techniques or obtain expertise in a specific topic area.
